Support services

One of the ironies of living in rural Australia is that while more complex life-saving procedures become available through medical research, medical services to the bush are becoming more restricted. Procedures and operations once performed by the local doctor are now largely the province of specialists, usually based in the larger hospitals in capital and regional cities.

Glennon House Inc. is a registered not-for-profit charity offering special support for people who must stay in Toowoomba for medical purposes – attending specialists or outpatient clinics, undergoing treatment at the radiation therapy centre at St Andrew’s Hospital, awaiting the birth of a baby, waiting for the ‘all clear” to go home after a stay in hospital, etc, or supporting someone in hospital. Glennon House is classed as budget accommodation . Staff can take no responsibility for medical care or treatment. Visitors must be able to care for themselves or be accompanied by a carer.
